Freedom
  • Real freedom is having nothing. I was freer when I didn't have a cent.

  • Is freedom anything else than the right to live as we wish? Nothing else.

  • For in the end, freedom is a personal and lonely battle and one faces down fears of today so that those of tomorrow might be engaged.

  • The only freedom which deserves the name is that of pursuing our own good, in our own way, so long as we do not attempt to deprive others of theirs, or impede their efforts to obtain it.

  • Freedom is a man's natural power of doing what he pleases, so far as he is not prevented by force or law.
