Happiness
  • Work and live to serve others, to leave the world a little better than you found it and garner for yourself as much peace of mind as you can. This is happiness.

  • I am about to be married, and am of course in all the misery of a man in pursuit of happiness.

  • There is a difference between happiness and wisdom: he that thinks himself the happiest man is really so but he that thinks himself the wisest is generally the greatest fool.

  • Subordination tends greatly to human happiness. Were we all upon an equality, we should have no other enjoyment than mere animal pleasure.

  • Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance.
