I knew that there were black people in Africa, of course, unfortunately because of movies such as 'Tarzan.'

My family and our neighbors and friends thought of Africa and its Africans as extensions of the stereotyped characters that we saw in movies and on television in films such as 'Tarzan' and in programs such as 'Ramar of the Jungle' and 'Sheena, Queen of the Jungle.'

I like to hang out with my friends. I love music. I like to go to the movies. I like to eat. I like to cook.

I think that's what distinguishes Schmidt, really. In the movies now, so much of what is appealing to an audience is the dramatic or has to do with science fiction, and Schmidt is simply human. There's no melodrama there's no device, It's just about a human being.

Movies make you immortal and ageless.
