Religion
  • My great religion is a belief in the blood, the flesh, as being wiser than the intellect. We can go wrong in our minds. But what our blood feels and believes and says, is always true. The intellect is only a bit and a bridle.

  • Religion is the recognition of all our duties as divine commands.

  • Superstition is the only religion of which base souls are capable of.

  • There is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed.

  • Leave the matter of religion to the family altar, the church, and the private school, supported entirely by private contributions. Keep the church and state forever separate.
