Truth
  • Tragedy is like strong acid - it dissolves away all but the very gold of truth.

  • Justice is rather the activity of truth, than a virtue in itself. Truth tells us what is due to others, and justice renders that due. Injustice is acting a lie.

  • To love our neighbor as ourselves is such a truth for regulating human society, that by that alone one might determine all the cases in social morality.

  • One unerring mark of the love of truth is not entertaining any proposition with greater assurance than the proofs it is built upon will warrant.

  • I want to be distinguished from the rest to tell the truth, a friend to all mankind is not a friend for me.
